Overview

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical or Industrial Engineer on behalf of a high-end automotive engineering startup based in Marbella. This boutique firm specializes in the development of premium automotive components.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior professional with 1-3 years of experience who understands the technical reality of manufacturing and industrialization, and can act as the vital link between a conceptual vision and the final, physical product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Supplier Coordination: Take ownership of existing projects, managing the technical interface with external suppliers and R&D partners to ensure consistent progress.

  • Industrialization Support: Translate high-end design concepts into technical requirements, ensuring every part is optimized for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

  • Hands-on Prototyping: Support the R&D process by building, modifying, and testing physical prototypes. The role involves assisting with the operation of in-house tools like 3D printers and laser cutters.

  • Technical Liaison: Manage the full project lifecycle with suppliers, including defining technical scope, reviewing quotations, and tracking deliverables.

  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Support validation and quality protocols to ensure all components meet the “premium” standard required for high-profile automotive projects.

  • Strategic Development: Assist the team as they expand from individual component development toward the complete transformation of premium vehicles.

Ideal Candidate

A natural problem-solver who enjoys being hands-on in a workshop environment just as much as navigating technical specifications. A “no task is too small” attitude is essential for success in this dynamic startup environment.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience, ideally with exposure to the automotive sector or physical product development.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: A strong understanding of industrialization processes, materials, and technical drawings.

  • Prototyping Aptitude: Hands-on experience in a workshop or prototyping environment. Experience with 3D printing and laser cutting is highly valued; however, the client is willing to develop these skills in a candidate with strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Logistics: Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Marbella (this is a 100% in-person position).

  • Travel: Full availability for occasional international and domestic travel to visit suppliers and partners.

  • Languages: Fluent English is essential. Proficiency in Spanish or other European languages and advantage.

What Is Offered

  • Direct involvement in the creation of premium automotive products from concept to production.

  • A steep learning curve with early responsibility and exposure to complex engineering challenges.

  • Access to modern prototyping tools and a high-performing international team.
