Location: Madrid (Live-in position)

Salary: €2.200 to €2.800 gross per month, paid in 12 installments per year.

Schedule: 5.5 days per week, spit shift (7:30 AM to 1:30 PM / 4–7 PM). Small breaks can be taken throughout shift.

The Family & Role:

A warm and welcoming family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) is seeking a passionate Live-in Cook & Housekeeping Support to prepare fresh, healthy family-style meals and assist with housekeeping tasks.

This is a hybrid live-in position with a primary focus on cooking, but flexibility to perform housekeeping duties is key. The successful candidate must have a hands-on, can-do attitude and be comfortable assisting the Head Housekeeper with general housekeeping duties as needed.

The family will provide the successful candidate with ongoing professional training through an external private chef training company that will provide on-site training to the candidate as well as occasional menu planning support and training sessions throughout the year to ensure menus stay fresh and innovative,

The family also has an organic vegetable garden in their estate and is in the process of installing a chicken coup. Although there will be gardeners in charge of the outdoors area, gardening knowledge is a plus for this position.

Food & Cooking Style:

The family follows a clean and healthy diet, enjoying light, varied meals. No allergies or dietary restrictions other than that they prefer not to consume red meat, pork or octopus.

Daily Meal Structure:

• Breakfast (7:30 AM – Kids only): Light and fun, with the opportunity for children to participate (e.g., pancakes, crepes, French toast with seasonal fruits).

• Lunch (1:00 PM – Principals only as kids are at school): Healthy, seasonal brunch-style salads.

• Dinner (6:30 PM – Entire Family): Family-style meals served at the table.

Table service and cleanup required. The Head Housekeeper can assist on busier days.

Weekend Hosting:

The family occasionally hosts casual gatherings with close friends and relatives. The Cook must be comfortable preparing brunch or dinner for up to 10 guests, with assistance from the Head Housekeeper for prep, service, and cleanup.

Housekeeping Support:

As breakfast is quick and only for kids, and brunch is light and only for Principals, between breakfast and brunch prep, the successful candidate will be required to assist Head Housekeeper with housekeeping and laundry duties as needed, although the focus of this role is cooking.

Cooking Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation: Plan and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on family preferences.
• Menu Planning: Work with the Principals to create weekly menus.
• Grocery Shopping: Shop personally or coordinate with other team members and suppliers.
• Kitchen Management: Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and inventory organization.
• Table Service: Set and serve meals, ensuring an elegant yet relaxed presentation.

Housekeeping Responsibilities:

• Housekeeping Support: Assist the Head Housekeeper with general cleaning and laundry duties as required.
• Household Errands: Help with occasional household-related errands.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar private household role. Experience as a yacht stew/cook or high-end hospitality chef is a plus.
• Languages: Fluent English & Spanish.
• Driving: Driver’s license required; a car is provided.
• Flexibility: Ability to step into other roles as needed and adapt to the family’s schedule and work a split shift (7:30 AM–1:30 PM, 4–7 PM) with some adaptability.
• Personality: Professional, warm, discreet, and service-oriented.

Contract & Benefits:

• Full formal Spanish contract with all standard benefits.

• Accommodation provided: Private room in a modern staff apartment next to the main property, shared with the Head Housekeeper (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, shared living/kitchen space).
