Overview:
An UHNW family of Asian origin, based in Toronto, is seeking a highly experienced, formal Butler to manage and oversee the daily operations of their fully staffed estate in Toronto area. A candidate with previous experience and knowledge of Asian culture and customs is preferred. The family is looking for a trustworthy, detail-oriented, and professional individual who can ensure the highest standards of service in their household.
Key Responsibilities:
– Staff Management: Oversee and coordinate household staff, ensuring all duties are performed to the highest standards.
– Formal Dining Service: Provide impeccable table service for formal meals, including knowledge of table settings, serving etiquette, and wine service.
– Household Operations: Manage the day-to-day functioning of the household, ensuring smooth operations in all areas including housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services.
– Event Planning: Organize and oversee events, ensuring all arrangements are handled with discretion and attention to detail.
– Wardrobe Management: Care for the family’s wardrobe, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining clothing to a high standard.
– Guest Reception: Welcome and attend to guests, ensuring they receive exceptional service throughout their visit.
– Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and contractors to ensure proper maintenance and repairs are carried out on the property.
– Cultural Sensitivity: Provide culturally appropriate service that reflects the family’s Asian heritage, including knowledge of customs, traditions, and protocols.
– Travel Assistance: Assist the family with travel preparations and packing, ensuring all travel-related needs are met.
Candidate Profile & Requirements:
– Discretion & Trust: The utmost discretion is required, as you will work closely with the principals in a private setting.
– Attention to Detail: Ability to anticipate needs and provide a seamless experience for the family.
– Cultural Knowledge: Familiarity with Asian traditions, customs, and cuisine is highly preferred.
– Leadership Skills: Experience managing a team of staff in a formal household environment.
– Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the family’s needs, with a calm and resourceful approach.
Requirements:
– Fluency in English; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
– Previous experience; 5+ years of experience working with UHNW families in a formal household setting is essential.
– Strong understanding of formal service etiquette and protocol.
