Position Overview:
An exceptional opportunity has become available for a Chief of Staff to join a discreet and influential UHNW family based in New York City. Acting as the operational nerve center of a tight-knit family office, you will oversee day-to-day functions across multiple households, assist with special projects, manage key staff, and ensure flawless execution of the Principals’ personal, philanthropic, and administrative objectives.
This is a pivotal role requiring strategic thinking, outstanding interpersonal finesse, and genuine loyalty. You’ll serve as the key liaison between the family, their team, and a roster of international advisors — ensuring that every detail is anticipated, systems run efficiently, and communication flows seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Provide senior-level support to the Principals and act as their first point of contact for all personal and household operations.
-
Supervise a core team of 6 professionals, ensuring clarity of duties, high morale, and consistent service standards.
-
Coordinate and maintain household budgets, expense reporting, and financial overviews in collaboration with the family’s CFO and external accountants.
-
Liaise with legal, real estate, investment, and philanthropic advisors to ensure accurate communication and timely follow-through on action points.
-
Handle key family events, travel logistics, and household transitions between residences (NYC, Hamptons, Aspen, and abroad).
-
Maintain detailed SOPs, vendor contacts, and project timelines within a private, secure database.
-
Lead and document weekly staff meetings, ensuring alignment and clarity across the team.
-
Maintain total discretion at all times and serve as the protector of the family’s privacy, preferences, and legacy.
Candidate Profile:
-
7–10 years’ experience in a senior role within a UHNW private household, family office, or boutique executive environment.
-
A calm, pragmatic presence who knows how to lead with both authority and warmth.
-
Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently.
-
Experience managing teams and complex logistics across multiple properties.
-
Tech-savvy and confident using private family office systems, budget tracking tools, and secure communication platforms.
-
Strong emotional intelligence and ability to navigate high-sensitivity dynamics with tact and maturity.
-
Native-level English fluency required; additional languages a plus.
-
Based in NYC with existing right to work in the US.
Why This Role?
This is a rare chance to step into a leadership position at the heart of an established and well-run family office. The family values long-term collaboration, professionalism, and discretion, and are seeking someone who sees this role as a meaningful career chapter — not just a job. You’ll work with a loyal and respectful team who understand the unique rhythm of private service and take pride in providing world-class support.
